Tone is a fundamental aspect of classical guitar performance and Debra is master of this. A sensitive and empathic player, she has appeared as both a soloist and chamber musician at festivals in the UK, including the Guitar Festival of Great Britain, the Cannington International Festival and the Dillington festival. In Norway she presented a concert for King Harald, appeared on TV with her late husband Arne Brattland, and toured extensively with him throughout Norway and the UK. She is a co-director of, and tutor and performer at, the International Guitar Summer School at Ammerdown. In June 2024 Debra recorded the album Lullaby which includes previously unrecorded music by Armand Coeck who said, “Your recording of La Caravana is masterful with great sensitivity and a wonderful sound, congratulations! I thank you with all my heart for playing my music with your great talent.” Debra is a frequent collaborator with the international guitarist Carlos Bonell and her concert will include arrangements by him. Debra’s concert promises to be brilliant and evocative with a touch of nostalgia.
